New beauty bits

Fenty Beauty ICON Semi Matte Refillable Lipstick
I have to confess, I haven’t even worn my Fenty Beauty ICON Semi Matte Lipstick in Ballin’ Babe yet. As with any beauty purchase I make, I have to photograph it a million times before I use it. But I do love how creamy it looks, and I truly think I chose the right colour - my friend Ava got gifted the collection (she’s a beauty editor) and said it’s definitely my perfect nude, so I’ll find out tomorrow when I finally wear it. One thing that I'm really happy about is that Riri made this a refillable lipstick, so even if you don’t love the colour, you can try another shade and just buy the refill - or if you find a colour you love, you’ll be helping the planet out by only buying one lot of packaging.

Byoma Skincare
I was kindly gifted a set of three products from new brand Byoma, based on some preliminary skincare questions. I love the fun, colourful, recyclable packaging and I’m about to bring the Creamy Jelly Cleanser and Moisturising Gel Cream into my routine this weekend. I’m holding out using on the Brightening Serum, even though it sounds amazing - but that’s purely because my skin’s going through a breakout right now and I’d rather focus on keeping things calm and hydrated. All three of the products I received contain a ‘breakthrough’ Tri-Ceramide Complex, which makes sense as finally everyone is talking about how essential ceramides are to skin barrier protection. The range itself is all about protecting, restoring and repairing the skin barrier - because clearly we’ve all been doing the most with those actives since we’ve been spending so much time indoors. Right now I’m most looking forward to using the Moisturising Gel Cream, as it contains calming Niacinamide and Green Tea - both of which my skin loves.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Heat Lip Luminizer and Plumper in Lemon Lava
I know, it’s a Fenty Beauty sandwich! I truly love this gloss, but then I love all the Fenty Gloss Bombs I’ve bought. I don’t know if I’d necessarily buy a Heat version again unless I was obsessed with the colour - just because my lips don’t really need plumping and I found the warm, tingling sensation a bit annoying. Although the Heat range is described as shimmer-free, I don’t really think that applies to the Lemon Lava version; it’s the most perfect level of shimmer and the yellow tone seems to flatter every single lip colour I’ve teamed it with. Love it.

Huda Beauty Wild Chameleon Wild Obsessions Eye Palette
Full disclosure: this was a Donni Davy-inspired purchase. If you don’t already know, Donni is the head of makeup on hit show Euphoria - and she’s just announced she’s bringing out her own range of makeup, called Half Magic, in May. Obviously the entire makeup world can’t wait to try it and find out if it’s going to be very Euphoria-esque, i.e. glitter and rhinestones. But in the meantime I’ve been having fun with this palette; I love how it’s just a fun little wardrobe of shades that can work together but I still need to play with the purple! Donni shared the palette when she was creating look on Instagram a while back, before Euphoria came back to our screens, and my friend Nush (who is an amazing makeup artist) has loads of these Huda palettes. Buying this has definitely made me want to try more Huda Beauty products, so watch this space.
