How to stay cool this summer

I'll be the first to admit: I'm an easy sweater, so I'm always looking for ways to beat the heat and not let how I'm feeling inside (i.e. dying) 'shine' through. Here are my fave skincare products to stay cool in the summer months.
Clockwise: Jade Dermaroller (just seen); Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask; both Aloe Vera Gels and Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream

Jade Dermaroller (facial roller)
I can't remember where I bought this (Amazon most likely) but I LOVE how it's always cold. It's great for an instant dose of cool, and of course, is great for massaging in any face mask or oil that you've applied. It's also said to increase circulation, which in turn should help with your skin staying glow-some. Whatever works, right?

Cooling face masks
I'm currently loving Simple's Pollution Protect Sheet Mask! It's so freakin' cooling, you just want to sit with it on your face for hours. However, for a bit more bang for my buck, I always go back to Peter Thomas Roth's Cucumber Gel Mask. Just stick it in the fridge an hour before you want to use it, and layer it on generously. I usually leave it on overnight - it's amazing at reducing pore size and just calming your skin down, especially post-breakout.

Aloe Vera Gel
I've got two favourite gels right now: one is Strictly Professional's Aloe Vera Gel (only available at professional salons/beauty wholesalers) and one that I picked up on our hols in Fuerteventura, from the hotel shop (it's called L'Aloe Vera Fresca which I'm pretty sure means Aloe Vera Gel...). They both do exactly the same thing when it comes to soothing your body post-sun exposure, but the Spanish version doesn't have any fragrance or glycerin added, so it really depends if you want a scent and a slightly more moisturising formula (although the fragrance isn't really noticeable at all). On particularly hot days, instead of slathering on lotion straight out of the shower - so it basically slides off my skin before I even make it to the bedroom - I'll put aloe vera gel on all over instead, and just sit down. After five minutes I feel cooler all over, and finally ready to put on my body lotion.

Speaking of body lotion...
I'm obsessed with Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream. Supposedly inspired by face care, namely our current love of anything containing moisture-balancing Hyaluronic Acid, the gel cream sinks into skin beautifully, almost instantly, and leaves you feeling hydrated and fresh for the rest of the day. Can't get enough of it.
