Lockdown survival tips: How freelancers and creatives can use mindfulness, journaling and meditation
Episode 28
While it has to be said that none of us are having an easy time of living in lockdown, for creatives and freelancers things can be even tougher. While many freelancers and creators are used to working alone and might often be assumed to be introverts, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re more at ease with isolation. Whatever the memes might say about how easy artists and creatives must be finding lockdown, they still need human interaction - even if that’s just a nod from the barista at their favourite coffee shop. With that in mind I picked this week’s guest specifically for her background, in the hope that she could offer some coping tips for creatives.
London-based Jess Young is the founder of popular Instagram account @boysinpolish, and she’s also a nail tech, DJ and musician - who also paints - so I thought she would make the perfect person to share tips on how to cope with lockdown as a freelancer. Listen to hear Jess’ tips on meditation, mindfulness, journaling, songwriting and why she loves to watch Rowena Tsai’s YouTube channel. I’d love to know how you’re coping, so feel free to share your own tips over on my Instagram account @beautymepodcast and do please hit subscribe and leave a review.
